Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a big contributor to fat shaming, and self conscious teens. I saw this ad, and it threw me off because, the girl you see on the left looks anorexic, while the girl on the right is MUCH bigger than a size 14. An ad like this gives girls a false image of themselves and a false image of what they should look like. A girl who is a size 16 or more might look at this ad, and think to themselves “wow if that’s what a size 14 looks like, then I must be damn huge in other people’s eyes” and begin aspiring to look like the girl on the right. The girl on the right as no muscle around her knees, which is incredibly dangerous, her wrists look as though they could snap like a twig, and her waist isn’t even big enough for all of the necessary organs you have to survive. I am a size 14 sometimes a size 16, depending on the brand and what I’m buying.
that’s me…a size 14-16…I do NOT look so big that my thighs are exploding, my neck is warped into my shoulders, and my elbows don’t even have a point.
Ads like this, telling women what they should look like and what they shouldn’t look like, shouldn’t exist…
And in any case, it isn’t about how you look, you need to feel good about yourself. You need to be healthy. As long as your are healthy, and feel good about yourself, you are fine. if your dress size is 22 but you are HEALTHY. Then BE HAPPY WITH HOW YOU LOOK. And if you are a double zero and ARE HEALTHY. THEN BE HAPPY WITH HOW YOU LOOK.

If you criticize yourself, You’ll never be happy, if you let others tell you how to feel about how you look or how to look or how to act or how to ANYTHING. You will always be striving for more.
